These are the questions he completed for the Firsties Salute:
1. List your accomplishments /
activities / positions at the Academy: Baseball 4 year letterman,
3 year all-academic all conference, CoSIDA/ESPN All-Academic All-District, Team
Senior Captain, Top-Third in Major, Operations Reseirector of Operations, Dean's
List every semester, Athletic Director's list 7 semesters, completed Jump
program
2. 2008 Summer Plans: I will play on the All-Military
All-Star team for about 30 days. We will work with communities and other
teams for entertainment, fundraisers, and a publicity group for the military.
This tour will include mainly Florida and the Northeast, playing several
independent and college summer teams to include the Cape Cod league. I
will then spend time at home in Illinois visiting with family and friends,
wakeboarding and getting ready for my first assignment. I may also take a
trip to Spain with some friends for a week.
4. Who or what influenced you most while at the Academy:
My parents were always there to support me, while keeping me honest on how
much the academy really does relate to everyday life as a grown up in the
working world. It is all preparation for the real world and they made sure
I realized that through the good days and tough days.
5. Best advice given to you upon entering the Academy:
"Work hard - everyone believes in you"
6. Your advice to new cadets entering the Academy :
Take it one day at a time. It will be done before you know it and you will
never have the chance to do it again. You cannot take the rough times too
seriously and let them get you down, but keep working and make the most of
everyday you have.
7. Your most memorable experience while at the Academy:
Making friends and spending time with them, mostly on the baseball field and our
trips around the country. I could not ask anymore of the friends I have made.

Josh's mother Annette and his sister.
