John P. Carberry

 

Squad:  28 - Blackbirds

Hometown:  Oak Lawn, IL.

High School:  St. Rita of Casia

Major:  Social Sciences

AF Assignment:  Eglin Air Force Base, Florida

I will be graduating on May 28, 2008 and will be an acquisitions officer at Eglin AFB.  My best experiences at USAFA include jumping out of a plane, making friendships that will last a lifetime, playing football for 2 years, Army programs, and the Special Tactics Orientation Course in Florida.

Hobbies include lifting weights, skiing / snowboarding and hanging out with friends.  I have also helped out every year with the blood drive, Combined Federal Campaign and I organized a squadron community service project recently.

Best advice given to you upon entering the Academy:  Study hard and get EI (Extra Instruction).

Advice to new cadets entering the Academy:  Study hard.

Most memorable experience while at the Academy:  Special Tactics Orientation Course two summers in a row.

Accomplishments at USAFA:  I jumped out of an airplane and played football.
