Club Benefits

The United States Air Force Academy Northern Illinois Parents Club (NIPC), established in 1965, is one of the largest and most active clubs in the nation and still going strong.

The mission of the Club is to support the parents of cadets through the trials and tribulations their cadet's experience at the Air Force Academy (USAFA) and to provide recognition and assistance to the cadets themselves as they progress up the line.

As a member, you will receive the following benefits:

  • Newsletters containing information about club activities and updates on the cadets and the Academy.
  • Annual Holiday gifts to each cadet.
  • Invitation to the All Academy Ball; a formal Holiday Military Ball for all 5 Service Academies.
  • An assigned upper-class cadet parent to help you through the first year (Adopt-A-Doolie Program).
  • Assistance with Hotel reservations for Parents and Graduation Weekends at the Academy.
  • Recognition and graduation gifts to seniors upon graduation.
  • Holiday and Birthday cards sent to your cadet by the assigned Class Representatives.
  • Notification and invitations to any local Academy events.
  • Regular Club meetings and events throughout the year to update and support all parents including: Nominee Brunch, Annual Meeting, Firstie Salute/Spring Meeting, Alumni Brunch, Doolie Parent Picnic, Summer Picnic/Meeting, Fall Meeting (usually a televised USAFA football game)

In addition, the Northern Illinois Parents Club:

  • Supports the Protestant, Catholic and Jewish Chaplain Funds at USAFA with annual donations.
  • Supports the Northern Illinois Air Force Liaison Officers in their efforts to select the best candidates for the Air Force Academy admission.
  • Supports the Dennis P. Rando Cadet Humanitarian Fund with annual donations
  • Supports Air Force Club activities at the Academy through donations.

The Northern Illinois Parents Club is officially sanctioned by the Air Force Academy with official lines of communications to and from the USAFA Parents Club Liaison, who communicates to the elected co-presidents. This information in turn is disseminated to all members

There are many other benefits of being a member. We invite you to join the Northern Illinois Parents Club so that you can also be part of our Academy family and participate in these activities.

AN  OFFER  OF  HELP  FOR  NIPC

PARENTS  &  CADETS

It is working.  With the email to NIPC parents regarding the updating of our website and the need for Cadet details and other information, current NIPC member, Susan Roy, parent of C1C Timothy Roy of Woodstock, IL, sent the following email:

"I am  in Colorado at least until June '09.  If any of our NIPC families have an emergency or other special situation, please let them know we will be happy to help out if we can.  My son had emergency surgery twice last year, and by the time we found out, he was back at the dorm.  I know he would've liked to have had me here."

So, if you are in need of trusted help from fellow NIPC parents, please consider taking up the offer of the Roy's to be of service.  Reminds me of the Academy phrase:

"Integrity First, Service Before Self, Excellence In All We Do"
